U.S. troop ships arriving France 1917-1918

Message par MarkCJones »

I apologize for not being able to write in the French language.

I hope a visitor to this forum can supply a hard to find piece of information about American troop ships arriving in France during World War I. I know that the USS George Washington (ID-3018) arrived at a French port on November 9, 1918. This ship likely arrived at Brest, as it appears to have been the usual port of disembarkation for American troop ships by that stage of the war. An otherwise very detailed English language source I consulted gives just a date of arrival.

If a forum visitor has access to sources that might confirm the port at which the USS George Washington arrived, I would greatly appreciate you checking that source for me. You can respond either to this forum or by private message. Thank you very much!

Bonjour,

J'ai cette photo datée du 29 juin 1919 montrant l'arrivée du paquebot George Washington à Brest avec le Président Wilson à bord.
