Probably I made a mistake searching for a tug of the Compagnie Générale de Navigation Havre-Paris-Lyon-Marseille with a long name.
Having looked again at the picture there might be two names at the bow, a long one and below it a shorter one. And there seems to be a 1 at the bridgehouse of the tug.
So with the help of Theodor Dorgeist we probably have identified this tug, too.
The "Licorne" was in service as "Hafenkapitän Caen 1" since August 1940.
Here are two postcards of this tug built in 1890.
Licorne von 1890 in Notre Dame de la Garenne.jpg
Licorne von 1890 in Paris vor Tour Eiffel.jpg
And, please, may I renew my wish to get higher resolution scans of the two pictures. Even if it's impossible to read the names, it may confirm my assumption of two names at the bow (and possibly the length of the second name).
Regards
