Some more pictures of sunken ships at Toulon.
# 12 "Kersaint" and "Vauquelin" without ship in the background, the explanation why I didn't recognize them on picture #9
#13 the same ships taken more closely
#14 probably drydocks in the foreground
# 15 some tugs or patrol craft
# 16 place to identify
#17 the same place
# 18 and again
# 19 and now some closeups of "Commandant Teste"
# 20 "Commandant Teste"
# 21 "Commandant Teste"
# 22 "Commandant Teste"
#23 might be "Commandant Teste" as well, to the left an AA-gun

NICE!!! :DFor Dave a picture of La Ciotat. The sailing yacht to the right is still unknown, but the motoryacht to the left is very probably the "Ariel".
According to Groener's, "Ariel" was built in the US. She looks like a converted subchaser from WW1. Her designation was H5, which is odd as it said she served in one of the southern escort groups.
Another great find!
Thanks!

Yes, "Ariel" is one of several subchasers of WW I sold and rebuilt for civilian use. Don't know whether she is one of the 100 vessels transferred to France during the war or an SC serving under the Stars and Stripes in Europe and sold there.
She was first rebuilt as a passenger vessel for Gabriel Voisin at Cannes (date of Francisation 05.09.1924). In 1926 sold and used as yacht.

And some more unusual pictures I bought recently:
Darse Vauban (?), some tugs, and in the foreground an unidentified one still swimming:
A HR of the unidentified tug:
Two tugs, might be "Corse" and "Héron"?
And the "L'Incomprise II":
By the way: why this yacht was renamed "L'Incomprise" while another ship of this name was still in existence (of course not under French flag at this time)?
Last but not least a picture of showing the Quai Noel. In the background the old dock for submarines - but it looks intact. Was it really scuttled?

Hello,
The two tugs scuttled are the Cepet (1000 HP) with her black funnel and the Héron II with the white funnel with black top.
For the no-scuttled tug, I have never see photos of two tugs who are in Toulon the 27/11/1942 : the Thesée (former Monjuich of 350 HP) and the Carqueiranne (former Pacific former War Rose of 450 HP). She is probably one of this two tugs.
Regards
Alain

Un contretorpilleur sabordé. Est-ce le "Vautour"?
