The
ATL2 basic mission is Maritime patrol including Anti Surface and Anti Submarine
Warfare.
Thanks to its design
for these high level mission, the powerful ATL2 system allows il to perform,
wether night or day, numerous complementary missions such as :
- Joint operations
with the Navy, the Air Force and the Army ;
- Intelligence
gathering ;
- Search and Rescue
(SAR) ;
- Humanitarian
operations :
- Support of civil
authorities (Exclusive Economic Zone control), pollution surveillance, fisheries
areas and environment surveillance,...).
The ATL2 is
a tactical tool wich forms part of a deterrent strategy for military and civil
applications. It's perfectly integrated in a command, control, communications
and intelligence organisation (C3I).
- The ATL2 airframe
retains all the characteristics wich made it ideally adapted to its missions
:
- twin-engine
configuration with outstanding safety and economy figures fully proved over
more than 25 years of operation ;
- very reliability
of turboprops ;
- light and robust
airframe ;
- high level of
comfort in the 12 air crew stations with capacity to accomodate 24 men on
board ;
- multiple visual
watch stations (glazed nose, blister windshield side for pilots, hemisperical
rear bubble windows). ;
- exceptionnal
manoeuvrability with high aspect ratio (11) and lift-to-drag (17) ;
- unique internal
load capacity in a wide weapon bay (9 m3/lengh : 10 m).
ATL2 is the
only LONG RANGE MARITIME PATROL AIRCRAFT (LRMPA) specifically designed for its
missions. It is the reason why it remains so well adapted to such missions.
